The Gulf Coast Model A Club was organized May 24, 1997 at the Ford dealership in Mobile, Alabama with 11 charter members living in Alabama and Florida.
Carl Bailey was the first President of the club and Larry Nelson was the first Vice President. The club meets for breakfast once a month in Pensacola and Mobile and has an official meeting quarterly at different locations.
The purpose of the club is to restore and preserve the Model A Fords that were produced between 1928 and 1931. More than 5,000,000 Model A's were produced. We join together in mutual admiration for the vehicles and help one another in the restoration and repair of the cars and trucks. You do not have to be a car owner to join the GCMAC.
The club sponsors car shows, car displays, road trips and tours. We have had members drive their cars as far away as Alaska and many members take tours with other chapters and other antique and classic automobile organizations.

Annual Picnic

The club members have a huge combined knowledge of how to restore and maintain the Model A that modern mechanics do not, nor will know. The car and truck owners have experiences with problem solving that is unequaled. Joining the GCMAC gives you access to that knowledge through classes, discussions at meetings and problem solving sessions as well as occasional work days where we get "hands-on" experience.
For $25 a year you get access to this.
In addition, you get great fellowship through showing your vehicles, driving on tours and at getting together from time to time. The Pensacola members meet the first Saturday of every month at 8:30 am for Breakfast, the Mobile members meet the fourth Saturday of every month at 8:30 for Breakfast. Both groups meet at 11:00 am for our quarterly meetings. We combine the Pensacola and Mobile members together for our annual Christmas party.
